Children

All issues dealing with Children in family breakdowns should be dealt with in a sensitive and reasonable manner. Ideally Court proceedings should be avoided, but if necessary either parent can apply to the Court for a Contact or Residence Order. Anne Jarvis & Co have a wealth of experience in such cases.

The emphasis in Children’s cases is very much upon Parental Responsibility rather than parental rights and the needs and best interests of the Children concerned are paramount. Decisions regarding contact and residence can have an impact on financial settlements. Step-parents and Grandparents also need to be taken into consideration.

Anne Jarvis & Co work closely with the Mediation Service, the CAFCASS teams and local counselling services to complement our advice on the legal position and practical options open to you. We also use the services of local contact centres and are committed to the principles behind the National Contact Centres organisation.
